Betty J. Bailey

Mrs. Betty J. Mangino Bailey, 91, of York, PA, formerly of Meadville, PA, Hartsville, SC, and Venice, FL, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, with family by her side at Country Meadows Leader Heights in York.

Betty was born in Meadville on December 1, 1932, the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Trozzi) Mangino.

On July 4, 1959, Betty married Donald Bailey at St. Mary's Church in Meadville; he preceded her in death on July 5, 2019 after 60 years of marriage.

After graduating from Meadville High School, Betty was employed by the former Talon, Inc.

A devout Catholic and avid golfer, Betty was a member of St. Mary of Grace Church and the Meadville Country Club for many years. In Hartsville, she was a member of St. Mary the Virgin Mother and Hartsville Country Club. In Venice, she was a member of Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Plantation Golf and Country Club. In York, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

Betty is survived by her children Susan Thomas of York, Jeff Bailey (Jacqueline) of Moultonborough, NH, Don Bailey (Heather) of Madison, NJ, and Mark Bailey (Janine) of Ocean City, NJ. Betty was blessed with 12 grandchildren she adored: Ryan, Greg, Emily, Meg, Andy, Sara, Austin, Caroline, Miles, Griffin, Charlie and Criseyda, along with five great grandchildren Lydie, Max, Leo, Jake and Zoey. She is also survived by sisters Terry Guzzo of DuBois, PA, and Rose Frisina (Anthony) of Meadville, and sisters-in-law Madeline Mangino of Meadville and Wilma Bailey of Franklin, PA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband Donald, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings Florence Wildrick, her twin Louise Surano, Josephine Cervone, Angie Mangino, Joan Baiera, Michael Mangino, and Ralph Mangino.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 10-11 AM, at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville where a Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11 AM with Fr. Kyle Seyler, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Betty will be laid to rest with her husband, Donald, in St. Brigid Cemetery.
