Fredrick E. Kistner, Jr., 75, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Meadville Medical Center.

Fred was born in Cleveland, OH on August 6, 1941, a son of the late Fredrick E. and Alida (Geel) Kistner, Sr.

On February 27, 1965 Fred married Pauline "Polly" Buco; she survives.

He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Fred retired as Vice President of Finance and Accounting from Superior Wells in Indiana, PA. He earned his Accounting Degree from University of Montevallo in Alabama. A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Fred entered the US Army on February 10, 1964 and served his country until his honorable discharge on January 25, 1966. A member of American Legion Post #111, over the years Fred enjoyed boating, motor cycle riding, following sports on TV, bowling with his league at Plaza Bowling Lanes and golfing with his couples league at Oakland Beach Golf Course. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Polly, of 52 years, Fred is survived by three children Darryl L. Kistner and his wife Marji of Beaver, Nanette L. Kistner of Pittsburgh, Scott F. Kistner and his wife Nicole of Beaver, nine grandchildren Stephanie, Danny, Brandi, Jake, Cody, Braden, Nate, Devin, Angela, two great grandchildren Cameron, Zoei, a sister Lee Lattig and her husband Ralph of Leslie, MI, two brothers Mel Kistner and his wife Susie of Elyria, OH, Doug Kistner and his wife Rita of Sheffield Lake, OH, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by five sisters Ruth, Janet, Margie, Judy and Paula.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 3524 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
