Georgia Mae Cummings

Georgia Mae Cummings, 85, of Meadville, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at home.

Georgia was born in Como, MS, on June 19, 1936, a daughter of the late George and Rosetta (Wilkins) Barber.

In 1951 Georgia married Robert Cummings; he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a member of Beacon Liberty Street Temple Church of God in Christ and served as a Mother of the Church.

Over the years Georgia had worked as a kitchen manager and also as a private duty care giver. She loved her Lord and family above all things.

Georgia is survived by her sons Michael Cummings, Melvin Cummings both of Meadville; her daughters Willie Ruth Stout (Richard), Emma-Jean Buggs, Tina Wofford (Rev. Larry), Demetrius Ward-Manley all of Meadville, her Goddaughter Bertha Eggleston of Memphis, TN; her step daughter Beverly Williams of Meadville; a host of grandchildren including Derriana Jones of Virginia who was like a daughter; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; four sisters Louise Bailey of Meadville, Rose Porter, E. Sarafina Neloms both of Erie, Annie Mae Pope of Milwaukee, WI; a brother L.C. Walker of Memphis, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by two sons Robert Cummings, Jr., Larry Cummings; a daughter Johnella Cummings; a sister Bessie Estes; and a brother L.C. Barber.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

A Home Going Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Beacon Liberty St. Temple Church of God in Christ, 11292 Liberty St., Meadville, with Rev. Larry Wofford officiating.

Georgia will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
