James "Jimmy" A. Adair, age 86, died suddenly but peacefully at his home with his wife Babe at his side.
Jimmy was born in Knoxville, TN, to the late William Arthur and Nettie Louise Adair.
Jimmy graduated from Knoxville High School in 1953. After graduation he and his family moved to Cleveland OH, where he worked various jobs until he started working for the Palmer Bearing Company where he worked for years. Later Jimmy worked for the Erie Lackawanna and Conrail Railroads from 1971 to 1981 as a Crew Caller. After leaving the Railroad he and Babe owned Adair’s T&R Bar, Adair’s Car Care and various rental properties that he designed and remodeled. For many years Jimmy volunteered for Meadville Medical Labs as a driver and was loved by those he was able to serve. To all that knew him, knew when he walked into the room with his smile and popping blue eyes, he captured the room. Jimmy had a love of gardening, NASCAR, and Steelers football and especially his pets, Babo, Buffy, Bischon, Tia and Tre.
Jimmy married Josephine (Babe) Perricone on July 31, 1971. They enjoyed over 50 years of sharing their lives and loves together.
Loving family that preceded him in death are his brothers Kenneth, Jack, Keith and infant Carl; his sisters Marylynn, June, Joyce; his parents in law Vito and Jean Perricone; and sister in law Marie Perricone.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Josephine (Babe); four sons Ron (Pati), Don (Carmella), Tony (Julie), and Jim Adair Jr.; seven grandchildren, Tiffany (Adam) Chiappetta, Anthony James Adair, Tyne (Karl) Englund, Zachary Taylor Adair, Carly Rose Adair, Liam Patrick Adair, Aiden Connor Adair; four great grandchildren Kelli Sroka, Dominic Chiappetta, Lana Chiappetta, Ryan Englund; Audrey White, the mother of their four boys; sisters Kathrine(Art) Micco, Carole (Ken) Delovitch; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Jimmy was a Tennessean by birth but a Pennsylvanian by choice.
At Big Jim's request there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers please donate to The Shriner's Hospital, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
