Larry A. Palmiero

Larry A. Palmiero, 75, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at AristaCare at Park Avenue. 
 
Larry was born in Meadville, on August 9, 1943, a son of the late Henry and Betty (Marska) Palmiero.
 
On January 20, 1968 Larry married Patricia Straw; she preceded him in death less than a month ago, on January 29, 2019.
 
After many years of service, Larry retired from the former Conrail Railroad.  Additionally, along with his wife, Pat, he owned and operated the former Palmiero's Drive Inn in Fifth Ward, Meadville, for more than 25 years.  Following his retirement he worked with his son, Kevin, at PM Wood Products.  A Vietnam veteran, Larry entered the US Army on February 25, 1965 and served his country honorably until his discharge on February 17, 1967.  He was a graduate of Meadville High School.  He had a keen interest in collecting various items including stamps, knives and woodworking tools.  He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.  His departing causes yet another large loss to his family and friends and he will never be forgotten. 
 
Larry is survived by three children Jode Palmiero (Charity), Kevin Palmiero, both of Meadville, Amy Palmiero-Winters of Hicksville, NY, four grandchildren Rachael Palmiero, Evan Palmiero, Carson Winters, Madilynn Winters, a brother Ken Palmiero (Cheryl) of Tampa, FL,  many nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents and his wife, Pat, of 51 years, Larry was preceded in death by an infant son, Keith Palmiero, two brothers Jim Palmiero, Tracy Palmiero, Sr., and a daughter in law Emily Palmiero, who passed away less than two weeks ago.
 
Family and friends are invited to support the family by attending a Celebration of Life Dinner on Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 4-6 PM at Vietnam Vets Post #52, 13240 Dunham Road, Meadville.  Please RSVP by Thursday, February 28 by either calling 814-350-4730 or emailing amybkw@hotmail.com as to prepare accordingly.  
 
Larry will be laid to rest with his wife, Pat and their infant son Keith, In Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
