Ronald Gary Williams, 60, of 307 Grant St., PO Box 1064, Saegertown, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Edinboro Manor, Edinboro.
Ron was born in Meadville on September 25, 1951, a son of the late Ronald Harry and Carol Ann (Dunbar) Williams.
On February 14, 1994 Ron married Kathleen Mary Beadle; she survives.
He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where he had served as an Eucharistic Minister. He also administered the Eucharist to patients at Meadville Medical Center.
After 14 years of service, Ron retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance Office where he had been employed as a caseworker. He had previously been employed as a nurses aide in California as well as at the former San Rosario Nursing Home of Cambridge Springs. A veteran, Ron entered the US Army on June 21, 1971 and served until his honorable discharge on June 13, 1973. Ron graduated from Edinboro College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. He continued his education by obtaining further credits in Psychology and Philosophy. His hobbies included swimming, biking, running and competing in triathlon events.
In addition to his wife Kathleen of 17 years, Ron is survived by two sons Matthew James Williams of Oil City and Joseph David Williams of the Philadelphia area. Other family members include a sister Deborah Williams, two brothers Frank Williams and Steven Paul Williams.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Ronald Harry Williams and his mother Carol Ann Williams Pontious.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a time of sharing will take place at 6 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011, with Rev. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
