Al E. Shay

Al E. Shay, 58, of Guys Mills, passed away Friday, July 27th, 2012 at Meadville Rehab. & Nursing Center.
Al was born in Meadville, on September 12, 1953, a son of the late Harold and Betty (Seeley) Shay.
Al had been employed as a truck driver for Valonia Industries and had previously driven truck for Angelica as well as several other companies. He had also worked as a mechanic. Al was a 1972 graduate of Meadville Area High School. He was a member of Saegertown American Legion Post #205, V.F.W. Post #2006 and West Mead Firehall. His hobbies included working on equipment and being a gentlman farmer.
Al is survived by three sisters Rose Powell and her husband Donald, Grace Wagner, both of Meadville, Linda Mancinelli and her husband Gary of Chicago, IL, a nephew Daniel Powell and his wife Rose Ann, two nieces Jestine Urquhart and her husband Robert, Tammy Moore and her husband Allen, great nieces and nephews Jullyan and Lawrence Mailliard, Eris Eels, Eric and Allan Powell, Brandon, Isaac and Megan Urquhart, Amanda, Lilly and Jaclyn Moore, great great nephews Lawrence, Jr, Riley and Sam Powell, a very special person in his life Mary Ashby of Meadville, dear friends Scott and Susie Hanaway and their boys Kyle and Logan of Meadville.
In addition to his parents, Harold and Betty Shay, Al was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley L. Shay and a niece, Karen Mailliard.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3-7 and Monday from 10-11 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 30th, with Rev. Jeff Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.
