Albert M. Rossi, 89, of 309 Columbia Ave., Meadville, passed away at Meadville Medical Center on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, the day after the one year anniversary of his beloved wife, Lucy's, death.

Albert was born in Meadville, on August 28, 1926, a son of the late Emidio (Tony) and Jeanette (Carvella) Rossi.

On November 3, 1945, Albert married Lucy L. Ross; she preceded him in death on May 10, 2015.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

After 42 years of service with the City of Meadville, Albert retired in 1989 from the Wastewater Treatment Plant where, over the years, he had worked his way up to Supervisor/Plant Manager. During his career, he completed numerous training and education courses. A veteran of WW II, Albert entered the US Army on February 14, 1946 and served his country honorably until his discharge on April 9, 1947. He attended Meadville Schools. His hobbies included woodworking and building model airplanes. He loved being outdoors, working in his yard and mowing his yard on his lawn tractor, which he did with a smile on his face. Albert's life revolved around his family. He was a founding member of the Tito-DiLorenzo family reunion. He will be remembered most for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed.

Albert is survived by four children Judge Michael Rossi and his wife Sandra, Judy A. Briggs and her husband Jeff, both of Meadville, Marilyn Moore and her partner Bob Wright of Saegertown, Shirley M. Rossi of Augusta, GA, eight grandchildren Nicholas Rossi, Charles Zimmerman and his wife Jennifer both of Pittsburgh, Dale Zimmerman, Mitchell Maziarz and his wife Patty, Kristine Cox and her husband Erik, Jennifer Maziarz, Tara Moore, Christie Kightlinger and her husband Tom, all of Meadville, eight great grandchildren Haley King, Braiden Zimmerman, Alyssa Maziarz, Mitchell Maziarz IV, Alexis Main, Emily Main, Christopher Cox, Amaera Moore, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife Lucy of 69 years, Albert was preceded in death by two sisters Mary D'Amico, Lucy Wiltse, six brothers Joseph, Fred, Steve, George, Carmen and Richard Rossi.

At Albert's request, private family viewing and services will be held with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor of St. Mary of Grace, officiating.

Albert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Lucy, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Albert's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Meadville Medical Center for the kind and loving attention that was given to him while he was in their care.
