Alda Pauline Piazza

Alda Pauline Piazza, 92, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Meadville Medical Center.

Alda was born in Echo, on January 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Jacob and Iva (Markle) Schrecengost.

On September 30, 1950 Alda married George Piazza; he preceded her in death on September 23, 2018.

She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Following her graduation from Dayton High School in 1944, Alda went on to work for the former Bell Telephone as an operator with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers in St. Mary's.

Alda is survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Ray Schrecengost, three sisters Violet Pentz, Virginia Yount and Ruby Williams.

At Alda's request there will be no public visitation. A public Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church at a future date which will be announced.

Alda will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Brigid Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, or St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., both of Meadville, PA 16335.
