Alice Ann Dobos

Alice Ann Dobos

On Tuesday, June 23, 2015, Alice Ann Dobos left her earthly body at Meadville Medical Center to claim her glorified body from her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born on April 7, 1953, in Nogales, AZ, the daughter of the late Elmer Lewis and Esther Elizabeth (Erlandson) Wilson.

She was a member of Pleasantview Alliance Church, Saegertown.

She graduated from Nogales High School and worked her way through LeTourneau College as a waitress at Sambo's Restaurant and as an assistant in the practice of natural physician, Joseph Gracyk, both located in Nogales, AZ, and as a versatile employee in the cafeteria at LeTourneau.

On March 15, 1977 she was married to James William Dobos of Meadville. They didn't see much of each other in the courtship time between college graduation and their wedding, but they wrote lots of letters. He jokingly referred to her as his "mail order bride." She was known to all her friends in Meadville as a formidable prayer warrior. Together she and James had six children, who along with their father, all survive.

Those children are sons Alan and Christopher of Meadville; Timothy (Robyn) and Stephen of Lock Haven; daughters Esther Amaya (Walter) of Washington, DC; Ruth (Jeremiah) of Meadville. Her grandchildren are Anneliese Charles of Meadville and Grove Dobos of Lock Haven. Surviving siblings are four sisters Ellen Stoddard of Henderson, NV, Ruth McDaniel of Nevada, IA, Joyce Pannier and Della (David) Thomas, both of Tucson, AZ; three brothers Carl Wilson (Kae) and Paul Wilson (Cheryl) of Tucson, AZ and John Wilson (Frances) of Fort Worth, TX. Alice is also survived by seven nieces Susan Fields of Las Vegas, NV; Karen Stoddard of Phoenix, AZ; Carla Miglin, Tabitha Reick, Bobbie DiPalermo and Evelyn Pannier of Tucson, AZ and Tammy Bridgeman of Des Moines, IA. Also surviving are nine nephews Raymond Stoddard, Nathan Wilson and Dylan Thomas of Tucson, AZ; Howard Stoddard and Shane Wilson of Las Vegas; Peter DiPalermo of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Pannier of Denver, CO; Todd Wilson of San Antonio, TX and Tyson Wilson of Portland, OR. She is further survived by a close family friend Michelle Paulsen of Meadville.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Family and friends are also invited to call on Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 3:30-5:30 at Pleasantview Alliance Church, Route 86, Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 5:30 PM with Pastor Keith Draa officiating.
