Alice M. Brakeman

With hearts full of sorrow, we said goodbye to our beloved matriarch, Alice M. Brakeman (Main), on March 27, 2025, at the bold age of 91 and a half.

Born on September 22, 1933, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Alice was known for her warm heart, steady presence, and unwavering resilience through life’s toughest moments. She met and married Delbert Buchanan, and together they had three children: Ronald, Jeffrey, and Judie.

Alice worked at Talon for 47 years, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression. But her deepest devotion was to her family. She gave endlessly to those she loved—offering support, wisdom, a hot meal, or a fierce defense when it was needed. She was a constant source of comfort, strength, encouragement, and a sense of belonging that made everyone feel at home.

She is survived by her children, Ronald and Judie; her son-in-law, Tad Sickman; her brother, Gary Main; and her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and poured her heart into. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Ralph Main; her husband, Delbert Buchanan; her son, Jeffrey; her sister; and three beloved brothers—no doubt greeting her with open arms.

Her legacy is one of strength, love, laughter, and generosity. She lived life on her own terms, and we will carry her bold, beautiful spirit with us—always.
