Allen Lee Peterson, 69, of Meadville, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, at Meadville Medical Center.
Allen was born in Meadville, on September 4, 1955, a son of the late James Allen and Nancy Lee (Ketcham) Peterson.
On September 24, 1988 Allen married Gloria J. Gandelot; she survives.
He was an active member of First Christian Church.
Allen had been employed by the former Riverside Market and Hovis Interiors. He earned his Accounting Degree from Edinboro University and was a 1973 graduate of Meadville High School. A US veteran, Allen entered the Air Force on September 4, 1973 and served his country honorably until his discharge on October 18, 1974. He enjoyed bowling in both the Plaza Lanes and the former Center Lanes Leagues. Allen was a sports enthusiast and a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan. Over the years he played Softball, coached Little League and Little Gridders, also announcing for the games. He loved attending the sporting events and school functions for all the children in his family and church family, regardless of their ages. His presence made them proud and happy. Allen will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife Gloria of 36 years, Allen is survived by four step children Peggy Hall of Meadville, Brian Hall (Linda) of NC, Lisa Petruso (Steve) of Meadville, Chris Hall of Erie; step grandchildren Shane Dittrich, Dustin Elmen, Lori and Dan Rash, Josh and Michelle Petruso, Corey Amorey, Kassi Cable, Trisha Powell, Samantha Lauer, Jessie Hall, Jared Hall, Lisa Hall, Pam Hall, Chuck Hall, Lexy Sterner; fourteen great step grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; two brothers Tim Peterson, Sr. (Mary) of Erie, Rick Peterson (Roberta) of Binghamton, NY; a sister in law Laura Peterson of Collin, TX; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a brother Mark Peterson and a step son Chipper Hall.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM-1 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Robert McGuire officiating. Full Military Honors will follow.
Allen will be laid to rest in Cochranton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Allen's memory to his wife, Gloria.
