Anna Maria (Bucci) Marsh, 81, of Meadville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Meadville Medical Center. A proud native of Meadville, she was born July 9, 1940, a daughter of Antonio and Louise (Trozzi) Bucci.
She married Pasquale (Pat) Marsh on June 17, 1961 and became a fulltime mother to her three children. The queen of hospitality, she shared her huge heart and culinary delights to all who entered her home including the many children she provided care to through the years. An outstanding baker, her cookies were requested by brides and cookie consumers throughout and beyond the Meadville area. She also supplied local restaurants with her gourmet cheesecakes and specialty pies. As a young girl, she loved to travel to New York City and would hop a train as often as possible. She had a captive smile and generously shared warm hugs to go along with it. A bit of a homebody later in life, she could often be found swinging on her back porch enjoying a popsicle and a good book. Her pride and joy were her three children and seven grandchildren whom she loved more than anything.
The youngest of seven siblings, she embraced the importance of a strong work ethic when at the age of 12 she took her first job at Spencer Hospital washing dishes on the Pediatric unit before working as a dishwasher at Wydell’s Restaurant as a teenager. Upon graduating from Meadville Area Senior High School, she accepted a job in the classified advertising department at The Meadville Tribune. After raising her children, she worked in the Voter Registration Office at the Crawford County Courthouse.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, her children Michele (Rob) Ames of Greensboro, NC, PJ (Christi) Marsiglia of Phoenix, AZ, and Beth Stroud of McMurray, PA, her grandchildren Molly (Adam) Pelta, Christopher, Patrick and Nico Marsiglia, and Andrew and PFC Michael Stroud of the United States Marine Corps, her sister, Rose (the late John) Poduszlo, of Cochranton, several nieces and nephews, and Brian Darcangelo who was a very important member of her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Nicholas Ames, two brothers, Archangelo Bucci and Charles Bucci, and three sisters, Olinda Varley, Julia Gable and Joan Bucci.
