Anne Hall

Anne Lacey Hall, 90, of Meadville, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville.

Anne was born in Meadville, on May 13, 1927, a daughter of the late A.J. and Harriet (Rice) Lacey.

On July 24, 1949 Anne married William S. Hall; he preceded her in death on September 27, 2009.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Anne was a 1945 graduate of Meadville High School. She then briefly attended Ohio University, Athens, OH, returning to Allegheny College after her children were all in school and ultimately graduated magna cum laude from Edinboro University in 1970. She taught Fifth Grade for many years at the former East End Elementary School. Anne enjoyed an active retirement, traveling extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe with her husband. Additionally she participated in sailboat adventures with her family on the Great Lakes, Chesapeake and in the Bahamas. She was also an avid golfer; however, her greatest passion was painting with water colors. For a number of years, she hosted annual shows at the Meadville Public Library. In 2010, her watercolor art won "Best in Show" at the Senior Art Exhibit held at the Mercy Center on Aging in Erie. She was a member of the Meadville Country Club, Antiquarians, "Elbow Benders" and her sewing group where she worked on her many quilts.

Anne is survived by her son Stephen E. Hall and daughter in law Marjorie A. Hall of Erie, her daughter Barbara A. Hall of West River, MD, a sister Mary K. Mullen (Robert) of Concord, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband William of 60 years, Anne was preceded in death by a son William Brian Hall, and a brother John N. Lacey.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 5-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Anne will be laid to rest with her husband, William, in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Ave. or St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at Cribbs Assisted Living Center as well as Grace Nursing Center for the wonderful care Anne received while in their charge.
