Anthony "Tony" J. Rinella

Anthony "Tony" J. Rinella, 74, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Meadville Medical Center.

Tony was born in Meadville, on April 17, 1945, a son of the late Peter and Eleanor (Roda) Rinella.

On June 5, 1965, Anthony married Jeanette "Jeannie" Monico and he missed her every single day since her death on October 23, 1999.

He was a life long member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

Tony was employed for 53 years as a barber in Meadville, Shortly following his 1963 graduation from Meadville High School, Tony enrolled at the former Orra Jean Barber School of Erie. Upon completion, he served his apprenticeship with the former Bruno Roda Barber Shop of Water Street. He continued babering with the former Roda Brothers Barber Shop on Park Avenue with Bruno Roda, Paul Roda and Carl Lynch. He later went on to work at the former Mr. Carl's Styling, Franciso Barber Shop and later worked with Bob Leach on Chestnut St. For the next 15 years Tony owned and operated Tony Rinella's Barber Shop which was located on Poplar Street. In 2015 he sold the shop and officially retired the following year. For over 30 years he also cut men's hair regularly at Wesbury UMC and Crawford County Care Center. He was a member of the Italian Civic Club. In his earlier years Tony enjoyed fishing, playing checkers and playing pool. He enjoyed hanging out at McDonalds. Tony had a passion for collecting, listening to and sharing his doo wop music. It seemed that every song had a special memory of years gone by and of great times with his family and friends.

Anthony is survived by four children Marc Rinella of Las Vegas, NV, Anthony Rinella (Jill), Monica Rinella (boyfriend Michael Garland), Stephanie Rinella (Boyfriend Marc Gregor), all of Meadville, three grandchildren Madisson Rinella, Nicholas Rinella, Vincen Rinella, a sister Rose Marie Lynch (Carl) of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jeannie, of 34 years, Anthony was preceded in death by a sister Josephine Gionti and a nephew Anthony (Jones) Gionti.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 5, from 4-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:45 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Tuesday, at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Anthony will be laid to rest with his wife, Jeannie, in St. Brigid Cemetery.
