Augie Saggio

Augie Saggio, 91, of 380 Arch St., Meadville, passed away Friday, February 7th, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Augie was born in Meadville, on August 22, 1922, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rosalie (Piazza) Saggio.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.

In 1985 Augie retired, with over 40 years of service, from the former Talon, Inc., of Meadville where she worked in the Fastener Department. She was a 1941 graduate of Meadville High School. Augie was a member of the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary, a life member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a former member of Meadville Elks Auxiliary. In her earlier years she enjoyed baking and sewing.

Augie is survived by a brother Louis Saggio of Meadville, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Augie was preceded in death by two brothers Nick Saggio, Philip Saggio and a sister Mildred Frisina with whom she lived.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-7 on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM and a Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CD of A) Service will be held at 3:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor, officiating.

Augie will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
