Barbara J. Warner

Barbara J. Warner, 79, of 1173 Elm Street, Meadville, passed away Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Barbara was born in Meadville, on August 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Al and Jane (Overton) Jenkins

She was a member of Bethel AM & E Church, Meadville.

For many years Barb was employed as a custodian by Crawford Central School District, working at Meadville Area Senior High School, Meadville Junior High School and Second District Elementary School. Over the years she had worked for many local businesses and families including the former Darling Store, Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Byham-Miller-Mizner Funeral Home, Bill and Katherine Jack and Barb Moon. A member of the Red Hat Society and Doll Club, Barb enjoyed making porcelain dolls and collecting them as well as their clothes and furniture. She will be remembered as a kind person and hard worker. She will be missed.

Barb is survived by six children Linda Vactor and her husband George Max of Erie, Eric Warner and his wife Tammy, Cheryl Dooley both of Meadville, Charles Warner of Washington, DC, Renee Johnson of Meadville, Kathy Johnson of Allentown, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, step children Nathanial Johnson, Jr., Rozetta Hughes of St. Louis, MO, Carrie Johnson of Chicago, IL, several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, three step sisters Brenda Raggs of Baltimore, MD, Cheryl Miller of Cleveland, OH, Peggy Taylor of Columbus, OH, three step brothers Quintel Miller, Allen Miller, Ronald Miller all of Meadville and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her soul mate, Nathaniel Johnson, of 43 years, Barb was preceded in death by a step daughter Onell Barnes, maternal grandparents Rev. Ed Overton and Lula Mae Wright Overton, many aunts, uncles and cousins including three dear aunts Alice Warner, Emma Overton, Dorothy Overton and special uncle Ed Overton, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and also on Thursday from 11-12 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, WHERE A Going Home Service will be held at 12:00 PM.

Barb will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
