Barbara Jean Swavey

Barbara Jean Swavey, 82, of Saegertown, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at home.

Barbara was born in Meadville, on April 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Alvin and Virginia (Smith) Nageotte.

On December 4, 1958 Barbara married Jerry Swavey; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2014.

She was of the Methodist Faith.

Barbara was a graduate of Saegertown High School. For more than 20 years she owned and operated Hayfield Furniture Store. She enjoyed reading, going to the casinos, and being outdoors. She loved flower gardening, watching the birds and animals. Her greatest love in life was time spent with family.

Barbara is survived by a son Mark S. Swavey (companion Susan Cook) of Saegertown.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jerry, of 55 years, Barbara was preceded in death by a son Dr. Michael Swavey and a brother Steve Nageotte.

Services will be private.
