Berneice S. Hunter

Berneice S. Hunter, 63, of 11121 Moyer Road, PO Box 744, Meadville, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Berneice was born in Meadville, on August 9, 1953, a daughter of the late Emmett and Zoe (Bourgeois) Jackard.

On September 7, 1974 Berneice married Jeffrey E. Hunter; he survives.

She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.

During her time working at NWSB, Berneice developed many close friends that she enjoyed spending time with.  After retiring, she enjoyed attending weekly mass with her husband and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies and interests included working in her flower garden, cooking for her family and attending her sons' sporting events and activities, but nothing was as rewarding as being with her family.  She loved being a homemaker and caring for her husband, sons and seven grandchildren.


In addition to her husband Jeff of 42 years, Berneice is survived by three sons Gene R. Hunter of Meadville, Patrick W. Hunter and his wife Anne of Greenville, SC, Bryan J. Hunter and his wife Stacey of Hermitage, seven grandchildren Luciana, Giana, Malena, twins Dominic and Emmett, Brooke, Bianca, three sisters Jean Beerbower and her husband Harold of Meadville, Dorothy McClintock and her husband Jim of Landrum, SC, Helen Ploski and her husband Larry of Guys Mills, a brother Charles Jackard and his wife Ruth of Guys Mills, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Berneice was preceded in death by a sister Frieda Foulk.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 6 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville where a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM with Fr. Jeffery Noble of Notre Dame Parish, Hermitage officiating.

Berneice will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery, East Mead Twp.
