Bertha "Anne" S. Clevenger

Bertha "Anne" S. Clevenger, 87 of Saegertown, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Meadville Medical Center.

Anne was born at home in Woodcock Twp., on December 27, 1930, a daughter of the late Raymond L. and Helen E. (McGill) Stainbrook.

On June 1, 1954 Anne married Herbert H. Clevenger, Sr.; he preceded her in death on May 8, 1992.

She was a lifelong member of Saegertown United Methodist Church where she served on the Pastor Worship and Mission Committees, was a member of the church choir for more than 60 years, was a former Sunday School teacher and Junior Choir leader.

For 30 years Anne was employed by the former Humphrey's Dry Cleaning, Meadville and later by Hayfield Estate Mobile Home Sales for a period of ten years. She was a 1948 graduate of Saegertown High School. Some of her hobbies included attending flea markets and feeding the birds as well as other wildlife. Anne also enjoyed pressing live flowers and creating beautiful pictures with them. She loved singing, especially with her group, Justified by Faith.

Anne is survived by a stepson Herbert H. Clevenger, Jr. of Austin, TX, two step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, five nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband Herbert of 37 years, Anne was preceded in death by a brother Howard Raymond Stainbrook.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3-6 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN and also on Friday from 10-11 AM at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave, Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM with Dr. Rev. Darrell Greenawalt, Pastor and Joseph Rial, Pastor Emeritus, officiating.

Anne will be laid to rest next to her husband, Herbert, in Saegertown Cemetery.
