Mrs. Betty A. Rodgers, 78 , of 708 Grant Street, Saegertown, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
Betty was born in Mt. Hope on March 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Owen and Ruth (Watson) Logsdon.
On June 19, 1954 Betty married James A. Rodgers; he preceded her in death on October 27, 2006.
In 1998 Betty retired after 32 1/2 years of service from Penncrest School District where she had been employed as an elementary school secretary. A 1951 graduate of Townville High School, Betty was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, Meadville Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, Saegertown Womans Improvement Club and Saegertown American Legion.
Betty is survived by a grandson Brad J. Rodgers, II of Charlotte, NC, a granddaughter Erin Rodgers Hruska and her husband Dan of Linesville, a brother Richard 'Dick' Logsdon of Meadville, a daughter-in-law Kelly Kedziora and her husband Thad of Saegertown, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband James of 51 years and her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a son Brad J. Rodgers, and infant daughter Candace Ann Rodgers, three brothers Pete Logsdon, Tom Logsdon, John Logson and a sister Letty Logsdon.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-5 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where services will be held at 5:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Custer, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in Saegertown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave, Saegertown, PA 16433.
