Betty Arlene Deshner

Betty Arlene Deshner, 90, of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 4th, at Meadville Medical Center with her family at her side.

Betty was born in Sharon, on December 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles William and Eva (Perry) Hazelbaker.

On October 15, 1946 Betty married George H. Deshner, Jr.; he preceded her in death on February 22, 1977.

After moving to Kerrtown at the age of 7 to be raised by her grandmother Margaret Parks Hazelbaker, she went on to graduate from Meadville High School in 1945. In her earlier years she worked for the former Bright Spot Dairy Store and J.C. Penney Department Store. She took great joy in being a homemaker, raising her children and caring for her husband. Following his death in 1977 she worked part time for McGill, Power, Bell and Associates of Meadville. Her hobbies included crocheting and took great pride in making items for family and friends.

Betty is survived by two children Vivian Deshner of Conneaut Lake and George Deshner III of Meadville, many nieces, nephews including M. Robert Hart (Darlene), who was like a son. She was also survived by extended family and friends who would loving refer to her as Mom D and Grandma D.

In addition to her parents and her husband George of 31 years Betty was preceded in death by a brother Charles.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 6th from 3 - 7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where services will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Joel DiAngi, officiating.

Betty will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
