Betty Loutina Jenkins, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at UPMC Harrisburg.
Betty was born in Zebulon, GA on August 2, 1945, a daughter of the late K.C. and Ida Ruth (Coggins) Burnett.
Betty married John Jenkins, Jr.; he preceded her in death.
A devout Christian, Betty was a God-fearing woman, who loved her Lord. She was a member of the Eastern Star. While Betty enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family she had also been employed as a Nursing Assistant at Harrisburg State Hospital. She enjoyed following wrestling, watching cooking shows, gardening, and she delighted in taking care of her grandchildren. She loved her family deeply. She will be sadly missed.
Betty is survived by five children Lawana Neely (Larry) of Harrisburg, John Derek Jenkins (Trelawney) of Rochester, NY, Triscelle Marlease Jenkins (fiance Larry McRae), Marshall Allen Jenkins (Lynne Brown) of Philadelphia, Fred Anthony Jenkins (Tonya) of Harrisburg; twelve grandchildren Larry Burnett-Neely, Dasia Jenkins, Cheyenne Jenkins, Issaiah Jenkins, Marshall Jenkins Jr., Paris Jenkins, Syanna Jenkins, Kennadie Jenkins, Walter Jenkins, Hezekiah Jenkins, Derek Jenkins, Evelyn Jenkins; two great grandchildren Eva Neely, Airelys Jenkins; four sisters: Melissa Burnett of Meadville, Melinda Brown, Millicent Burnett both of Pittsburgh, Helen Winbush of Griffin, GA; four brothers: Eddie Joe Burnett of Greensboro, NC, Marvin Burnett (Deborah), Marshall "Ike" Burnett both of Meadville, Wayne Burnett (Constance) of Erie; and a host of extended family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters Elizabeth Burnett, Ganelle Brown, Ann Ruth Smith; three brothers, Winfred "Claw" Morris Burnett, Robert Louis "Bubbles" Burnett and Melville "Billy" Burnett.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM-1 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main St., Meadville, where a Home Going Service will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Marvin Burnett, brother, officiating.
Betty will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
