Brenda Lewis

With great sorrow, the family of Brenda Lewis (Bartholomew), 56, of Saegertown, announce her passing on March 27th, 2024. Brenda left this world peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, marking the end of her courageous two-year battle with Glioblastoma.

Brenda was born on February 8th, 1968, and grew up in Meadville, PA, but ultimately found her home in Saegertown. There, she graduated from Saegertown High School in 1986, purchased a home, and created a life with her family.

Brenda married Scott Lewis, of Meadville, on September 8th, 1991. They worked hard and found their greatest joy raising their two daughters until his passing in 2010.

An employee of Meadville Medical Center for 25 years, she took great pride in her work and work family. She was especially honored to become a supervisor before leaving to focus on her health.

Anyone who knew Brenda would tell you she was a kind, funny, and selfless person. Her greatest pleasure in life was being an incredible Mother and Mimi. Strong, supportive, and unconditionally loving, she fulfilled both roles admirably.

Her final demonstration of her immeasurable love and self-sacrifice was her unwavering commitment to fight for every moment possible with her girls. Despite the odds, she did everything she could to spare them the heartache of her passing.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Lewis, but she leaves behind her daughters Brooke Lewis (John Tello Cajiao) and Amanda Lewis (Jimmy Lawrence), granddaughter Kennedy Lawrence, mother Mary Ellen Rebrassier, father Orville (Phyllis) Bartholomew, brother Bobby (Jennifer) Bartholomew, and sister Julie (Christopher) Gates.

Brenda’s family wishes to thank her enormous support system of friends, family, co-workers, and her loving boyfriend Stephen Grotzinger. She never felt more cherished than during these trying times.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-7 PM on Friday, April 5, 2024, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, and also on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 1-2 PM, at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, where a Memorial Service and luncheon will follow at 2 PM, with Pastor Jeffrey Little officiating.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335, for their incredible, compassionate care in her final weeks.
