Bruce Ray Albaugh, 69, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at home with his family at his side.
Bruce was born in Meadville, on September 24, 1955, a son of the late Ralph Earl and Esther Lucille (Stavey) Albaugh.
On April 16, 1983, Bruce married Gale Marlene Higby; she survives.
Bruce was a 1973 graduate of Meadville High School. In his earlier years, he had been employed by Bethesda Services for 15 years where he was licensed and certified in Sewer and Water Treatment. He went on to begin a 35 year career in the Maintenance Department of Crawford Central School District where he worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker, retiring at age 62. Bruce was a member of the Meadville Elks BPO #219. A natural athlete, Bruce did all things well. He enjoyed water skiing, especially bare foot. He found great pleasure in golfing with his son and brother in their golf league as well as vacationing and camping with his family. He loved riding his Harley motorcycles and was fortunate to have owned many over the years. He looked forward to his weekly Harley rides with his buddies. Bruce had a soft spot for dogs, especially his chocolate lab, Abby. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard, striving to make it look like a golf course.
In addition to his wife, Gale, of 41 years, Bruce is survived by two children Kayla Longo (Bob) of Meadville, Cody Albaugh (Ashlie) of Springboro; a granddaughter Emma Albaugh; a sister Joyce Myers of Meadville; two brothers Larry Albaugh (Jeanne), David Albaugh (Diane) both of Meadville; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in summer, 2025, and will be announced.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
