Byrdie A. Butterfield

Byrdie A. Butterfield, 87, of 424 Pine St., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Byrdie was born in Meadville at the former City Hospital, on August 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Estella B. (Penman) Chinn.

Byrdie married Malcome Daniels; he preceded her in death on June 16, 1973. She had subsequently married Jack Butterfield.

She was a member of United Faith Fellowship Church where she had been in charge of the Stewardess Board.

Byrdie enjoyed being a homemaker. While living in Miami, FL, Byrdie worked as a desk clerk for Miami Beach for 30 years. Following her retirement she moved back to Meadville. A past president of the Town Club, Byrdie was also a member of The Eastern Star-Abigail Chapter as well as a member of The Meadville Mass Choir. Her hobbies included making crafts, especially dolls, doll clothing and doll accessories.

Byrdie is survived by a daughter Rhonda J. Holland of Meadville, three grandchildren Dr. Shon Smith, Quintawna Hairston, Brian Holland, seven great grandchildren, a sister Betty Brewster of Meadville, two close friends Jeff Huber and Jeremy Huber, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Byrdie was preceded in death by three brothers Charles Chinn, LeRoy Chinn, Horace Chinn, two sisters Gladys V. Carpenter and Naomi Peach.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10 - 11:45 AM at United Faith Fellowship Church, 561 State Street, Meadville, where a Going Home Service will be held at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Markus McDaniel, Pastor, officiating.

Byrdie will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
