Catherine B. Duda

Catherine B. Duda, 84, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of 18515 Greytown Hills Rd., Cambridge Springs, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Catherine was born in Meadville on July 21, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Stribula) Bury.

On June 6, 1953 Catherine married Frank Stanley Duda; he preceded her in death on September 18, 2012.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Cambridge Springs.

Catherine was a devoted wife and mother all of her life. In her earlier years she had worked as a lab analyst at the former FMC Corp., Meadville, for six years. She was a 1947 graduate of Townville High School. Catherine loved God and her Catholic faith. She enjoyed following the news, keeping up with current world events and especially enjoyed caring for her family. She liked to read, garden and grow colorful flowers.

Catherine is survived by seven children Mary Catherine Menanno and her husband Ron of Guys Mills, Frank J. Duda and his wife Patti of Meadville, Dr. John R. Duda and his wife Cathy of Morehead City, NC, Steven M. Duda and his wife Tami of Calhoon, GA, James D. Duda and his wife Elaine of Meadville, David P. Duda and his wife Sandra of Newport News, VA, Susan M. Hughes and her husband Tim of Pittsburgh, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother Joseph Bury and his wife Linda of Texas, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Frank, of 59 years, Catherine was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane Klingensmith, a brother-in-law William Klingensmith and a nephew Michael Bury.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 27, 2014, from 4-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.

Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband, Frank, in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
