Catherine Carmella Maziarz

Catherine Carmella Maziarz, 86, of 10484 Krider Rd., Meadville, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at home.
Catherine was born in Lorraine, OH on September 19, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Ciu.
On July 5, 1947 Catherine married Chester S. Maziarz; he preceded her in death on August 26, 2009.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, and its Altar Rosary Society.
In 1986 Catherine retired from the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville after 40 years of service. She was a 1941 graduate of Meadville High School. Her hobbies included reading, traveling and gambling.
Catherine is survived by a son John J. Maziarz and his wife Audrey of Richmond, VA, a daughter Cynthia 'Cindy' Maziarz of Meadville, 1 grandson Leland Maziarz, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Chester, of 62 years, Catherine was preceded in death by a son Frank Maziarz, three brothers Galven, Angelo and Augustine Ciu.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 9-10:30 AM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Mark OHern, Pastor of St. Brigid, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
