Charles "Chuck" Edward Nies

Charles "Chuck" Edward Nies, 58, of Cooperstown, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Charles was born in Akron, OH on August 11, 1961, a son of the late Arthur and Alice (Weiland) Nies.

In September, 1998, Chuck married Christine Butryn; she preceded him in death in April 15, 2011.

For more than 20 years Chuck was employed by Acutec Precision as a Quality Control Inspector. He was previously employed by Nutec. A 1980 graduate of Meadville High School, Chuck was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved being outdoors, especially while hunting, fishing, camping or being in the country. He was a fan of the Charlie Daniels Band, Garth Brooks and old country music. His greatest joy in life was having quality family time. He will be missed.

Chuck is survived three children Jessica Nies-Burridge (Micah) of San Diego, CA, Tyler Nies of Pismo Beach, CA, Jeff Thompson (Kayla), adopted son Robert Burkhart both of PA, four grandchildren Alivia Burridge, Nevaeh Thompson, Isaiah Thompson, Briella Thompson, a sister Patricia Tatman (Greg) of Meadville, three brothers Arthur Nies (Karen) of Atlanta, GA, Ronald Nies of Prospect Park, James Nies of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Christine, Chuck was preceded in death by a sister Mary Ann Cecconello, and fiance' Susie Colomarino.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, from 4-6 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 6 PM.
