Charles Edwin Stiles

Charles Edwin Stiles, 86, of 3575 Bennington Dr., #71, Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Meadville, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, in Florida.

Charles was born in Meadville, on July 16, 1929, a son of the late August and Florence (Yeager) Stiles.

On May 29, 1953, Charles married Beatrice Garland; she survives.

A civil engineer, Charles had been employed by Lloyd Mullen Engineering, Al Hammond Engineering and had worked as Vernon Township Engineer as well as a consulting engineer for the City of Meadville. He owned and operated C.E. Stiles & Associates. In his younger years he was employed by Crawford Central School District as a Junior High School Math Teacher. Charles was a veteran of the US Army, Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably from 1951-1953. During his service time, he taught Engineering at a school in Germany. A graduate of Meadville High School and the Vo-Tech, Charles went on to further his education by graduating from Edinboro College in 1959 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. Over the years Charles had been a member of the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club, Conneaut Lake, Masonic Lodge #408, B.P.O Elks Lodge #219, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites, Zem Zem Shriners, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Engineer Society-Pennsylvania and Ohio.

In addition to his wife, Beatrice, of 62 years, Charles is survived by three children James Stiles and his wife Judy of Rockville, MD, Michelle Servello of Cape Coral, FL, Denise Stiles and her spouse Lori of Ft. Myers, FL, four grandchildren Richard 'R.C." Spina, Ashley Madrid, Brittany Servello, Kaitlyn Stiles, one great grandchild Christian Madrid, a brother Louis Stiles and his wife Ruthie of Erie, many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his grandparents Louis and Victoria Stiles, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles Stiles, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 10:30-11:30 am at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St. Meadville, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM, with Dale Denison, brother-in-law, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Following services, all are invited to attend a luncheon at Vernon Township Fire Department, 14277 Dunham Road, Meadville.
