Charles W. Brant, 91, of 19199 US Hwy. 6 & 19 Saegertown, passed away Friday, April 13th, 2012 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
Charles was born in Meadville on July 1, 1920, a son of the late Winfield G. and Mary Elsie (Hall Kebort) Brant.
On October 24, 1941 Charles married Letha Mary Dailey; she survives.
He was an active member of Pleasantview Alliance Church, Saegertown, where he served as an Elder as well as a Deacon.
Charles retired as plant manager of Greenleaf Corp., Saegertown, where he had been employed for ten years. Previously he had been a partner in Pennsylvania Tool & Gage. He was a 1938 graduate of Meadville High School. A veteran of WW II, Charles entered the US Navy on December 8, 1944 and served until his honorable discharge on March 12, 1946. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Letha, of 70 years, Charles is survived by a daughter Carole Foulk and her husband Jerry of Longview TX, a son-in-law Jim Kindervater of Meadville, five grandchildren David Kindervater, Beverly Taylor, Carol Lyn Kennedy, Heidi Boot, Jeremy Foulk, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister Barbara Schnarrs of Meadville, numerous nieces and nephews, close friends and neighbors, Lynne Vaughn Kline and her husband Calvin of Guys Mills, Susan and Vic Hrecjkosiej, Cathy and Bob Acker, Tom and Sheree Coscia, Damien and Katie Coscia, all of Saegertown.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter Darla Kindervater, a brother Richard Brant and a sister Helen Buckwalter.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 16, 2012, from 6-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with nephew, Rev. Paul Dorman, officiating.
Private interment with full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, will take place in Venango Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasantview Alliance Church, Route 86, Saegertown, PA 16433.
