Christine A. Jantosik, 90, of 17918 Gospel Hill Road, Saegertown, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at home.

Christine was born in Bentleyville, on September 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Stephen and Sophie (Valko) Misko.

She married Anthony J. Jantosik on Jan. 15, 1944, he survives.

Christine retired from the former GTI Plant in Saegertown in 1986 where she had been employed for 28 years. She was a member of Venango VFW Post #169 Auxiliary. For many years Christine enjoyed working with her husband on the family farm by Thomas Corners. She helped him with the gardening as well as the barn work and daily chores. After picking the fresh vegetable and fruits they had grown, Christine was eager to can and freeze them for her family. Additionally, she enjoyed doing needlework, cooking and baking for her family, especially ethnic Slovakian foods, particularly her homemade "kolache". Christine also enjoyed working in her flower beds and playing Euchre at the Cambridge Spring Senior Center with her many friends.

She was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church of Crossingville where she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

In addition to her husband Anthony, of 71 years, Christine is survived by a son Lawrence G. Jantosik of Saegertown, a daughter Kathleen Winans of Meadville, three grandchildren Melissa Lynn Hermann and her husband Eric of Erie, Bradley Craig Winans, Sarah LaRue Winans and her fiance Josh Burroughs, both of Meadville, a great grandson Logan James Hermann, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Craig Winans, two sisters Mary Marcoux, Sophie Piatt, two brothers Fred and Victor Misko.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-8 on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 25797 Hwy. 98, Edinboro, with Msgr. John W. Swoger officiating.

Christine will be laid to rest in St. James Cemetery, Edinboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville.
