Cynthia Jo Mahoney, 53, of Meadville, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Meadville Medical Center.
Cindy was born in Maple Heights, OH, on December 3, 1966, a daughter of Terry and Dorothy (Fries) Mahoney.
She was an extremely active member of United Faith Fellowship Church of God where she was involved with the Youth Ministry and the Food Pantry. Additionally she served as a Deaconess, Chairperson of the 30 Year Anniversary Celebration, and volunteered with the Back to School Bash as well as the Martin Luther King Scholarship Committee.
A 1985 graduate of Linesville High School, Cindy attended Gannon University prior to earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education as well as her Master's Degree in Counseling from Edinboro University. She was actively working on her Ph.D. In her earlier years Cindy was employed as a server at the Meadville Country Club and Perkins. She had also worked as a life guard at Pymatuning and Tuttleman Beach. She displayed a passion for helping others when she worked as a Therapist at Bethesda and the desire to help others continued with her current work as a Residential Treatment Facility Care Manager at Beacon Health Options. She was a member of MASH Basketball Boosters and enjoyed traveling to all the games. She also enjoyed taking Carnival Cruises and going to the beach, especially Tybee Beach in Georgia. Cindy will be deeply missed.
Cindy is survived by seven children Craige Dixon (Dorothy), Christopher Mahoney, Delon G. Lindsey, Chaykala B.D. Lindsey, SheQuon A. Lindsey, Lashon H. Lindsey, Keeon E. Lindsey; a host of grandchildren; her father Terry Mahoney; her mother Dorothy A. Mahoney; her brother Sean P. Mahoney; and her extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date which will be announced.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
