Dale B. Gage, 74, of 4130 Franklin Pike, Cochranton, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Meadville Medical Center.

Dale was born in Meadville, on June 11, 1943, a son of the late Willis B. and Julia V. (Picard) Gage.

On July 27, 1964 Dale married Dorothy "Dottie" M. Guthrie; she survives.

He was a member of Cochranton Community Church.

In 2004 Dale retired from PPG Industries where he was employed as a Glass Processor. He had previously been employed in the Spinning Department of the former American Viscose. He served with the 298th Unit of the US Army Reserves, Franklin. A 1962 graduate of Cochranton High School, Dale attended the former St. Agatha Catholic School through Grade 3. He was a member of Station 4 and of Twin State Auto Racing Club. He had also been a member of Cochranton American Legion. Dale was a dirt track racing enthusiast and enjoyed attending the local races. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, especially for perch and walleye. For many years he and his wife traveled to Haines City, Florida in the winter months. He was a casual golfer. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family; he loved them deeply. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Dottie, of 52 years, Dale is survived by three daughters Diane M. Deeter and her husband David of Cochranton, Doreen M. Craig and her husband Brian of Meadville, Dawn M. Gray and her husband John of Cochranton, seven granddaughters Chief Warrant Officer 2 Megan Dawson and her husband Nigel, Julia Perry and her fiancé Jim, Tasha Miller and her fiancé Shane, Stevie Yanacek, Jessica Bailey and her husband Michael, Ashley Conaway, Lexianna Gray, one great grandson Kohlton Perry and another grandchild due this fall. He is further survived by sisters in law Mary Bennett and her husband Ed of Meadville, Bette Perry of Cochranton, brothers in law Harry Guthrie and his wife Chris of Cochranton, John Guthrie and his wife Shannon of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a daughter Darla Ann Gage, two brothers Gerald Gage, Paul Gage, his mother in law and father in law Harry and Dorothy Guthrie and a brother in law Robert Perry.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

Funeral Services will be held at Cochranton Community Church, 3993 E. Church St., Cochranton, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 with Rev. Stephen C. Clulow, Pastor, officiating.

Dale will be laid to rest in Cochranton Cemetery.
