Daniel Jannazzo

Daniel Jannazzo, 74, of 399 Ben Avon St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at home, with his family at his side.

Daniel was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 23, 1940, a son of the late Anthony and Margurite (Masiana) Jannazzo.

On May 17, 1980 Daniel married Charlene T. Sheffer; she survives.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Daniel was employed in the machine shop of Plant 1 for Channellock Corp. for 38 1/2 years, retiring in September of 2000. A veteran, Daniel entered the US Army on November 5, 1958 and served his country honorably until November 4, 1960. He held memberships in the Meadville Club as well as the Italian Civic Club (I.C.C.). A sports enthusiast, Daniel enjoyed playing softball as well as bowling in several bowling leagues. For many years Daniel loved traveling to North Carolina to enjoy the ocean and beach with his family. Daniel will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandpa who will be missed by all who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his wife Charlene of 35 years, four children Danelle Jannazzo of Meadville, Michelle Jannazzo-Petruolo of Raleigh, NC, Daniel "Jody" Jannazzo of Meadville and Theresa N. Jannazzo of Erie, two grandchildren Zachary A. Petruolo of Raleigh, NC and Christopher Daniel Jannazzo of Meadville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call Friday, May 29 from 4-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 6:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 8:30 AM at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St. Meadville, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Daniel will be laid to rest St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
