David Albert Hahn, 76, of 268 N. Main St., Meadville, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017, at Meadville Medical Center, Grove St.
David was born in Philadelphia, on October 4, 1940, a son of the late Albert David and Dorothy (Stoyle) Hahn. At the age of 6 he and his family moved to Spartansburg.
On October 21, 1967 David married Peggy Ann Barco; she survives.
He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.
After 42 years of service, David retired from AA-1 Exterminating, the business he established, owned and operated as a certified pest exterminator. He had a passion for his work and he enjoyed doing it. A veteran, David entered the US Army on November 14, 1962 and was honorably discharged on November 13, 1964. He was a 1958 graduate of Spartansburg High School. He was a member of National Pest Control Association. He was also a member of the Italian Civic Club (ICC) and of Vernon Central. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing. Family was very important to David and he enjoyed time spent with them.
In addition to his wife, Peggy, of 49 years, David is survived by a son, Vincent David Hahn and his wife Jane Katherine of Newton, MA, a granddaughter Sophia Grace Hahn, three sisters Nancy Stone of Virginia, Mary Melby and her husband Gene of Harrisburg, Evelyn Matson of Atlanta, GA, a brother Allen Hahn and his wife Diana Ohlbaum of Washington, DC., four sisters in law Joyce Ohmer and her husband John, Jackie Herbert, Donna Ellis and her husband Stromie, Paula Moratto and her husband Dr. Paul Moratto all of Maryland, a brother in law Pat Barco of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two sisters Lenore Bolland and Eileen Hahn.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 10, 2017, from 2-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture Service will be held at 4:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating.
David will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
Special thanks to David's personal driver, Rick, not only for transporting David to where and when he needed to go, but also for the compassion and friendship he provided along the way.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, PA 16335, for a special project.
