David Allen Riley, 67, of 21687 N. Mosiertown Rd., Saegertown, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Meadville Medical Center.
David was born in Meadville on March 3, 1954. He was the son of Pearl (Hancock) and the late Eugene Merle Riley.
On August 24, 2012 David married Julie Hannold; she preceded him in death on November 5, 2014.
David owned and operated his own business, Riley’s Sparkle Cleaning for almost 10 years, before retiring. In prior years he was employed by Schneider Pipe and Supply Company out of Conneaut Lake. David graduated from Linesville High School in 1972. He was a member of the Saegertown American Legion Post #205, and he enjoyed spending time with his amazing friends at Hitchey’s Tavern and Willy G’s Bar, both of Saegertown. David was also an avid bowler and member of the USBCA (United States Bowling Congress Association). He bowled in several leagues at Plaza Lanes in Meadville for 40 years. David was honored and received a Lifetime Bowling Achievement Award for his many years of commitment to the sport.
David is survived by his mother Pearl Schneider of Conneaut Lake; his sister Elaine McLaughlin and her children Melanie Casper, Raymond Casper and Noelle McLaughlin, of Pittsburgh; his seven children Jason Riley of Pittsburgh; Casey Riley and Malissa Riley of Saegertown; Jerod Rodgers and his wife Casey of Townville; Chad Barker of Guys Mills; Trisha Harvey and Leiah Shongo of Meadville; and 13 grandchildren Maddison, Logan, Carson, Carleigh, Andrew, Landon, Chad Jr., Dylan, Gavin, Colton, Paige, Madison, Elise; and his beloved pet boxers Shina and Sissy.
In addition to his father Eugene and his wife, Julie, David was preceded in death by a son Ian Hannold, a brother Raymond Schneider and his step father Raymond Schneider.
David will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help anyone that was brave enough to ask. He was an amazing soul who was not just a son, brother, father, papa or uncle but also a best friend. His absence will be forever felt by everyone.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2-6 PM on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. The family kindly asks that everyone wear a mask.
Private Funeral Services will be held.
