Deborah "Debbie" S. Luikart

Deborah "Debbie" S. Luikart, 63, of 8820 Essex House, Meadville, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at home.

Debbie was born in Erie, on October 25, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert Lawrence Cage, Sr.

On December 28, 1974 Debbie married Douglas E. Luikart; he survives.

She was of the Christian Faith and had attended Saegertown Community Church.

Debbie was a meticulous homemaker and she loved taking care of her family. Her love of caring for others extended beyond her home as she baby sat numerous children over a period of thirty three years, often spanning two generations in the same family. She was know to many as "Nana" and she truly loved teaching the children and watching them grow. She lovingly knitted sweaters for the children in her care; she retired three years ago. She was a 1971 graduate of Saegertown High School. Debbie's family was very important to her. She delighted in attending the wrestling, baseball, softball, dance, soccer and school events of her grandchildren. Cooking Sunday family dinners and planning picnics with her family brought her great joy. Her dog Sadie and two cats Gracie and Domino were her extended family. Debbie loved cooking, baking, sewing, cleaning and knitting. She also loved shoe shopping and purse shopping. We say to Debbie as she said to others, "May God be your wings." She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Douglas, of 42 years, Debbie is survived a son Chad Allen Luikart and his wife Emily of Hurley, MS, a daughter Melissa Ann Bartholomew and her husband David of Saegertown, five grandchildren Morghen Bartholomew, Alexandria Luikart, Madison Bartholomew, Jacob Luikart, Dawson Bartholomew, a great granddaughter Annistyn, a sister Shirley Weed and her husband Richard of Meadville, two brothers Robert Cage, Jr. of Meadville, Jeffery Cage of Saegertown, two brothers in law who were very close to her Richard Luikart and his wife Betty, Don Luikart, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Debbie was preceded in death by a sister Peggy Feriera.
