Debra Dyan Smock, 56, of Meadville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2022, due to complications of Covid-19 during a courageous four year battle with lung cancer.
Debra was born in Meadville, on December 27, 1965, a daughter of Frances (Shuman) and the late Charles Smock.
She had been a member of First Baptist Church as well as New Beginnings Church, where she was very involved with the Celebrate Recovery Program. Debra loved Jesus and it was through Him and prayer that she found great faith and strength.

Over the years she had been employed at various restaurants, and as a caregiver, as a secretary, as a reservationist for Hyatt Regency in Kansas City, MO, as well as other five star hotels. She enjoyed her daily walks, especially with her dog, Tyson. Debra loved her sons and enjoyed cooking and caring for them.
Debra is survived by two sons James Payne III (Karol), John Lester Hamill, Jr. who provided her with great care during her illness; two grandchildren Jackson Payne, Kaia Dyan Payne; her mother Frances Rogers; her sister Dorene Morris (Paul); step mother Mary Jo Smock; step brother John Smock; her best friend John Hamill, Sr.; her close friends Gary and Diane Gordon, Judith Stein who provided much love and support; several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts including her aunt Marlene Miller (Edward); and her canine support dog Tyson.
