Desiree A. Marks-Ledrick, 49, of 20533 Alden St., Meadville, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at home.
Desiree was born in Cleveland, OH on March 14, 1967, a daughter of the late James and Helen (Smith) Marks.
On April 28, 2002, Desiree married Donald E. Ledrick; he survives.
She was an active member of Living Waters Church, Meadville.
Desiree was a member of the Meadville High School Class of 1985. Right out of high school she enlisted in the US Army and served her country honorably until her discharge. Desiree's passion was helping others. This was evidenced in all aspects of her life. On a professional level, she had been employed by UCIP and as a Certified Nurse Assistant for Wesbury and other local nursing facilities. On a personal level she was a devoted wife to Don. She was a most loving and caring mother to her son, Zach, to her foster son Sean, and to 9 year old Aiden, whom she and Don had taken in for the past year and are adopting. On a spiritual level she would strive to helping others by working with the church youth locally and by going to Africa to do missionary work. Her spirit was lifted when she was tending to the needs of others. Desiree will be sadly missed.
In addition to her husband, Donald, of 14 years, Desiree is survived by three sons Zack Allen and his companion Ashley Zivkovich, Sean Compere, and Aiden Greco, all of Meadville, a granddaughter Sophia Zivkovich, a grandson on the way, two sisters Robin Marks and her husband Eric Brown of Meadville, Samantha Marks and her companion Tom Obuszewski of Erie, two brothers Warren Marks and his companion Amy Bahurinsky of Conneaut Lake, Jamie Marks of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Desiree was preceded in death by a brother Christopher Marks.
