DJ Thrush, of 2720 Royal Palm Ave. Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 at her residence.
DJ was born in Terry, MS, a daughter of the late Pansy (Kammerdeiner) Thrush.
DJ had been a waitress and Bartender for the American Legion, Fort Myers FL. While living in Meadville, which was most of her life, she had worked as an Employment Recruiter for the state of Pennsylvania. She obtained her high school diploma from Franklin High School and furthered her education by attending computer classes at the Crawford County Vocational Technical School. She enjoyed music, shopping, watching TV soap operas and was a big fan of the movie Scarface in which she enjoyed collecting memorabilia of items that were in the movie. Her greatest joy came from being with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
DJ is survived by three children Fawnie Henderson of Meadville, Otisa Law of Franklin, Tyrone Thrush and his wife Candace of Meadville, 8 grandchildren, a sister SanD Jenkins of Meadville, two brothers Bill Carey and his wife Karen, Eddie Carey and his wife Crystal both of Franklin, two nieces Monique 'Kiki' Stanonis and Danielle 'Dani' Stanonis.
A Homecoming Service will be held at the Stephen P Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 19th, with Rev. Berta Newsome, pastor of United Faith Fellowship Church officiating.
Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery West Mead Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to in her memory to the Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
