Donald "Don" Neloms

Donald “Don” Neloms, 87, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. 

The oldest of seven children, he was born on July 31, 1934, to the late Henry and Thelma (Satterwhite) Neloms in Cincinnati, OH.

Don was a 1954 graduate of Withrow High School in Cincinnati, were he ran cross-country and played trumpet in the high school band. Don loved to sing, dance, fish, watch Westerns, and Old Turner Classic movies. 

Don married Mary Dimples Sanders in 1954.  They were the loving and proud parents of five children. In 2005, Mary fell asleep in death leaving a void in his life. On May 24, 2008, Jehovah blessed his marriage to Sarafinya Jenkins. From that union, Don gained five stepchildren.  

Don was employed by Chrysler Motor Company and retired from Detroit Public School System. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he served Jehovah as a faithful servant in numerous capacities. He had a love and passion for the truth, taking great strides to do more in God's service, which he held on to until his death.  

Don is survived by his loving wife, Sarafinya, his children Preston Neloms, Angela King, Jackie (Stanley) Bryant, Eric (Rhonda) Neloms, Kenneth Neloms; stepchildren, Rodney, Patricia, and Reginald Ford, Marcus Jenkins; siblings, Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Neloms, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Neloms Jr., Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Adams, a vast array of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Claudia and Joyce; brother Jerald; his first wife Mary; and stepson Richard Ford.

Services will be held via Zoom, Friday, August 5, 2022 at 6 pm.  

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away".
