Donald 'Donny' James Saputo

Donald 'Donny' James Saputo, 66, of 982 Grove St., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at home.

Donny was born in Meadville, on April 3, 1947, a son of Betty M. (Limano) Saputo and the late Carl Saputo.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church where, in his younger years, he served as an Altar Boy.

Donny retired from Tom Rockwell Trucking. He had previously been employed by Channelock Corp. and by the former Meadville Italian Bakery. A 1965 graduate of the former St. Agatha High School, Donny attended grade school at the former St. Brigid Catholic School. He was a lifetime member of the Italian Civic Club where he served as manager for several years. Donny was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns as well as the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed following baseball and was a precise baseball statistician.

In addition to his mother, Betty, Donny is survived by two sons Donald of Pittsburgh, Mark and his wife Stephanie of Wisconsin, an aunt Ethel Basile and her husband Joseph, two uncles Pete Limano, Michael Limano and his wife Charlene, both of Meadville and several cousins.

In addition to his father, Donny was preceded in death by an Uncle, Joseph Limano, and an aunt, Grace Higby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2013, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski Pastor of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, PA 16335 or St. Judes Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
