Donald Leroy Hall, Sr., 85, of 46891 Old Rt. 77, Spartansburg, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Corry Memorial Hospital.

Donald was born at home in Geneva, on June 6, 1929, a son of the late Lloyd Virgil and Hazel L. (Spargo) Hall.

On January 28, 1947 Donald married Reta A. Mathews; she survives.

While living in Florida, Donald was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Englewood.

In 1989 Donald retired from his dairy farm in Hayfield Township which he began in 1967. Prior to that he was employed as a farmer for the Crawford County Home, Saegertown, for more than 15 years. Following his retirement from Dairy Farming, Donald moved to Florida where he worked as a custodian at Manatee Community College, for nine years, until he again retired. He then returned to Pennsylvania and settled in Spartansburg. Donald was a 1947 graduate of Saegertown High School. He was a member of The Archaeology Club. An outdoors man, Donald loved nature and all animals. He enjoyed searching for arrow heads, hunting, especially archery hunting, riding motorcycles and doing wood work in his garage shop. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Reta, of 68 years, Donald is survived by a son Donald Leroy Hall, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Saegertown, a daughter Linda Thomas and her husband Bob of Midothian, TX, six grandchildren Dawn Shirley, Robert Lee Hall, Jr., Worena Hollihan, Eric Hall, Kelly Troutman, Jamie Hall, 10 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two brothers Marvin Lee Hall of Conneautville, Walter Raymond Hall and his wife Thelma of Lake Placid, FL, a brother in law George Watson of Saegertown, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sons David Emory Hall, Robert Lee Hall, Sr., three grandchildren one of which was a miscarriage, Mercy who was a still born and Rachel Shirley who left this life on March 5, 2015. Additionally he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Lloyd Hall, Jr. and a sister Betty Watson.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, March 15, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday.

Donald will be laid to rest Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
