Dora M. Kope

Dora M. Kope, 97, of Conneautville, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community.

Dora was born in Petroleum Center, on March 16, 1922, a daughter of the late Victor and Phoebe (Shaw) Proper.

On December 10, 1948 Dora married Charles L. Kope, Sr.; he preceded her in death on February 12, 1982.

She had attended Barton Road United Brethren Church, Meadville.

Dora delighted in being a homemaker and raising her family. Although she had worked in personal home health, as well as other jobs, her true calling was as a wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Oil City schools and was known to be a true country girl. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors, traveling and caring for all types of animals. She will be missed.

Dora is survived by three children Connie McCall (Leon), Cheryl Irwin, both of Meadville, Chuck L. Kope, Jr. (Kerri) of Guys Mills; seven grandchildren Leon "Mickie" McCall Jr. (Sabrina), Stacey Marketich (Pastor Randy), Elizabeth "Beth" Irwin, Philip "JR" Irwin, Ron Kope (Jill), Michael Kope (Kate), Tyler Kope; 15 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving of eleven children, have been preceded in death by brothers Floyd, Harry, Lawrence, Wyllis, and Warren Proper and sisters Marie Mealy, Norma Burt, Reba Moon, Loretta Mietus and Zanah Frankenberger.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM with grandson in law Randy Marketich, Pastor of Barton Road United Brethren Church, officiating.

Dora will be laid to rest next to her husband in Huber Cemetery, Union Twp.
