Doris C. Pepicelli, 95, of Meadville, died Friday, February 21, 2020, at Wesbury in Meadville, PA.
She was born in Elmira, New York, on January 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Leo Corbett and Alice Harden Corbett.
She married Attorney John V. Pepicelli on January 11, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1997.
Doris spent her early childhood years in Elmira, NY, and then moved to Towanda, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Towanda High School in 1943. She graduated from Binghamton Business College, Binghamton, NY, in 1945. She was employed as secretary to the Superintendent of the Bradford County Highway Department, and later moved to Harrisburg, PA to work as executive secretary to Dr. Teague, director of the Pennsylvania Department of Health at the Capitol Building. Doris was later employed as a ticket agent for TWA Airlines, with an office in the Penn Harris Hotel, Harrisburg. Her airline job began her love of travel, enabling her to fly to Cuba, and later she traveled to Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and the Canary Islands. Doris and John also spent numerous winters in Pompano Beach and Marco Island, Florida.
She met John Pepicelli while he was attending Dickinson School of Law at Carlisle, PA, and following his graduation, they were married and moved to Meadville, John’s home town. Doris then worked for several years in the Office of Register and Recorder at the Crawford County Courthouse.
Survivors include her daughter, Attorney Lisa Pepicelli Youngs and her husband, Attorney Christopher J. Youngs, of Cochranton, PA, her grandson, Attorney Jeffrey C. Youngs and his wife Chelsea Youngs of Meadville, and granddaughter Dr. Marisa B. Youngs of Rock Hill, SC.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Don Corbett and Robert Corbett, both of Florida, and two infant brothers.
Doris belonged to St. Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, and had been a past member of the Catholic Daughters, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Meadville Country Club and the Iroquois Club.
Per Doris's instructions, funeral services will be private for the family and there will be no calling hours.
