Dorothy Eileen Jones

Dorothy Eileen Jones, 97, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Rolling Fields, Inc.

Dorothy was born at home in Saegertown, on April 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Clarence and Cora (Ferguson) Powell.

On Sept. 6, 1946, Dorothy married Ormal J. Jones, he preceded her in death on June 8, 2009.

She was a member of First Church of God, Cambridge Springs.

Dorothy attended schools in the Saegertown, Venango and graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1944. In 1963 Dorothy moved to Colorado where she lived most of her life except for a brief period in 1984, until moving back to the Meadville area permanently in 2010. While living in Colorado she loved the outdoors, whether boating or enjoying their cabin in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Her hobbies over the years included crocheting and reading.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters Kay Eileen Williams (Gary) of Wheat Ridge, CO, Janet Marie Roundy (Francis) of Crossville, TN, a son Thomas "Tom" O. Jones (Brenda) of Guys Mills, grandchildren Jay Winter and his wife Sarah, Troy Swagerty and his wife Laura, Eric Swagerty, Kyle Jones, Jamie Fausnaught (fiance Brandon Stoke) Stephanie Roundy, Kimberly Roundy, great grandchildren Trent Swagerty, Travis Swagerty, Amber Swagerty, Thomas Winter, Jackson Winter, Aiden Fausnaught, Rylee Fausnaught, Peyton Stoke, Owen Stoke,Sydney Swagerty, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ormal, of 62 years Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister Laura Jump, three brothers Harold, Kenneth and Ronald Powell.

At the family's request there will be no visitation.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 11, 2023 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with Mary Mulligan Haines, officiating.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
