Dorothy M. Wolfgang, 87, of 565 Hartz Ave., formerly of B4 Jamestown House, both of Meadville, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.
Dorothy was born in Meadville on July 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Chauncey and Jessie (Firster)Randall.
On October 18, 1947 Dorothy married Robert E. Wolfgang; he preceded her in death in June 27, 1979.
In her earlier years Dorothy was employed by the former American Viscose in the Process Dept. until the time she became a stay-at-home mom to raise her family. When her children were grown Dorothy was employed by the former Humphrey Dry Cleaners, then later retired from Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community after 10 years of service. She attended Saegertown United Methodist Church and was a 1947 graduate of Meadville High School. Dorothy enjoyed doing word search puzzles, embroidering and baby-sitting, especially her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by a son Robert James Wolfgang of Harmonsburg, five grandchildren James Wolfgang and his wife Nyla, Evron Wolfgang and his wife Kari, Stacey Campbell and her husband Fredrick, Lisa Harned and her husband Travis, Lori Oates and her husband Steven, 13 great grandchildren Stella, Harper, LeeRoy, Briceson, Brandon, Katie, Allison, Kaylee, Owen, Dylon, Levi, Libby, Joshua, a sister Barbara Kelyman of Meadville, a brother Paul Randall and his wife Esther of Indiana, a son in law Leonard Rowan of Cambridge Springs, four sisters-in-law Lola Randall, Ruth Randall both of FL, Marion Randall of NC, Anna Mae Randall of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Robert of 31 years and her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter Marjorie Rowan, four brothers Homer, Steward, Merll and Robert Randall.
Family and friends are invited to call from 3-7 on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Joe Rial, Assistant Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert, in Cochranton Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
