Dr. Robert "Bob" P. Schall

Dr. Robert "Bob" P. Schall, 83, of 809 Chestnut St., Meadville, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at his winter home in St. Petersburg, FL.

Bob was born in Meadville, on March 29, 1934, a son of the late Robert K. and Elsie M. (Roberts) Schall.

On November 21, 1970, Robert married Lucy A. Flynn; she survives.

He had been a member of Cochranton Presbyterian Church for 60 years.

An educator, Dr. Schall retired from Allegheny College after 23 years of service where he also served as the Chairman of the Education Department for 16 years. He had previously been employed by Commodore Perry Schools for a period of seven years. In 1952 he graduated from Cochranton High School before graduating from General Motors Institute, a two year automobile management program. He went on to further his education by graduating from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1957 before earning both his Masters and Doctorate Degrees from George Peabody College of Vanderbuilt. Bob was a member of Cochranton Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his wife Lucy of 47 years, Bob is survived by two brothers-in-law James Flynn and Dr. Michael Smith, both of Rocky River, OH, cousins Linda Lewis of Hudson, FL, and Harry Theakston of Grants Pass, OR, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 and Wednesday from 11-1 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREAMTION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Pastor Glen VanCise of Chapmanville Community Church officiating.

Bob will be laid to rest in Cochranton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to either Cochranton Area Redevelopment Efforts (CARE), or Cochranton Cemetery, and mailed to 102 Roche Lane, Cochranton, PA 16314 or Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of donor's choice.
