Earl Leroy Boughton, 93, of 20881 St. Hwy 198 Saegertown, formerly of Venango and Harmonsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 14th, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Earl was born in Endicott, NY on May 12, 1921, a son of the late Earl Edwin and Lillian (Westerfall) Boughton.

On October 25, 1943 Earl married Evelyn Ella Daniels, she preceded him in death on June 18, 2008.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Meadville for many years

Following over 30 years of employment, Earl retired from the former Conrail Railroad where he was employed as a foreman in the Car Shop. He previously had been employed by Erie Lackawanna. A veteran of World War II, Earl served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. WASP. He was a former member of the National Campers and Hikers Association (N.C.H.A.) where he enjoyed traveling to camping conventions in many different states with his wife Evelyn. For 22 years, Earl traveled to Texas with his wife to spend their winters until 2007. Earl loved camping, was an avid painter, enjoyed going square dancing, and collecting model railroads. He had several model train boards displaying his different trains and tracks. One of Earls favorite pastimes included compiling genealogy trees for both his wife Evelyns family and his family.

Earl is survived by a daughter Linda Elaine King and her husband Bob of Harmonsburg with whom he lived for the last four years, two grandchildren Heather Ruhl and her husband Mark, Mike King and his wife Amanda, three great grandchildren Jarrot and Hailley Ruhl and Annabelle King, two brothers Clyde Boughton and his wife Doris, Crosby Boughton and his wife Ruth both of Susquehanna, a daughter in law Marilyn Boughton of Venango, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Evelyn of 64 years and his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a son Jerry Allen Boughton, a great grandchild Victoria King, a brother Douglas Boughton, and a sister Joyce Testa.

At the familys request there will be no visitation.

A memorial grave side service will be held for both Earl Leroy Boughton and his wife Evelyn Ella Boughton on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad Street, Saegertown, PA 16433.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693 or First Baptist Church of Meadville, 353 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
